Creating inspired environments tailored to your business through innovative design
About Brian
Brian Swanson is the Founder, President and Creative Director of Swanson Design and an award-winning designer, with over 40 years experience. Primarily a specialist in retail design, Brian’s portfolio includes such notable projects as:
-
The U.S. Naval Academy Visitor Center Gift Store in Annapolis
-
12 luxury stores in the Wynn Encore, with Steve Wynn, in Las Vegas
-
The Heist Nightclub in Washington, D.C
-
The Atlantic Restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland, and
-
Xenia Restaurant in Columbia, Maryland.
Between 2003 and 2011, Brian consulted with Barteluce Architects & Associates (BAA), New York, offering them a white label service in the planning and design of many major projects.
As a designer, one of Brian’s favorite parts of every project is the initial conceptual planning of a space which then shapes and informs the final design. This is a magical time for Brian when he is completely immersed in the creative process. His passion for detail comes through in the extensive research that goes into every project, whether related to the latest advances in design and materials or new environments and buildings around the world. For Brian, just catching a glimpse of something as simple as a shape or ornamental detail on a building, can spark the genesis for a new design.
